There are several versions of the tracks that are unique to the Sampler Edition, though most of them are likely just minor tweaks or edits, with the Rebel Tech version being the most dramatically different.
Unlike the box set, the digital Series 1 does not include the Sampler Edition, so yes, if you want those unique tracks, you'll have to buy them separately. Though you'll be able to buy just the individual unique tracks you want and not all of them necessarily.
