Re: Clash Music - Underworld podcast
Anybody for a bit of Underworld? Thought so. Lucky, then, that they’re supplying this week’s DJ podcast.

With a career spanning three decades, dance royalty Underworld have indeed been around the block a few times, and have emerged from the journey all the wiser and all the more ready to continue offering their own uncompromising take on the electronic scene, be it through classic stompers like ‘Born Slippy’ and ‘Cowgirl’ or via the melodic ambience of ‘To Heal’ and ‘Glam Bucket’.

Drifting hazily towards this ambient side, Underworld’s Clash offering is a chilled and lush affair, full of blissful moods and downbeat explorations, but with enough bite to keep things more than interesting. Tracks featured in the mix include the obscenely tight funk of JK Soul, a fantastic ambient remix of Tracey Thorn’s ‘Kentish Town’ by current Kompakt favourites Walls, and the group’s own ‘8-Ball’ – the perfect subtle stomp to fade out a fine selection of rare gems.

Underworld will perform a one-off album launch gig at The Forum, London, on Thursday September 16 to celebrate the release of their new album, ‘Barking’, which is released on Monday 13 September.
