Re: Personalized Drift Album
DRIFT - SERIES 1 - VERSION KH

This was an earnest and ambitious attempt to approximate what Drift would be if Underworld themselves had designed it to one album. It's meant to sound like a classic album using new material. The tracklist below doesn't really reflect the listening experience, as I made prodigious use of segues as on Underworld albums of old. The boys' inclusion of the Another Silent Way/Drift Poem/Better Than Diamonds track in the boxset gave me license to attempt something similar in my third track, which I hope you think sounds pretty cool despite my amateur abilities. I daresay I've come up with some transitions no one's tried yet, and I'm pretty happy with the results.

01. Universe Of Can When Back
02. Listen To Their No
03. Give Me The Room / Mile Bush Pride / Another Silent Way / Drift Poem
04. S T A R
05. Dune
06. Custard Speetalk
07. Appleshine (All The Lights)
08. Seven Drone Music
09. Brilliant Yes That Would Be
10. Low Between Zebras
11. Border Country
12. Toluca Stars

To be honest I'm not strictly familiar with the forum policy on file sharing so The Bang or others may wish to edit this portion of the post to adhere to the guidelines. Because of the special edits I did this isn't something you can replicate on Spotify. But to avoid sharing individual tracks that are commercially obtainable, I've made my version of Drift available only as a continuous DJ-style mix that cannot be heard any other way. It's in the following formats:

MP3
ALAC
WAV

The artwork is inspired by Simon Taylor's art on the individual CDs in the boxset. Those images are taken from the video for "Threat Of Rain," and are revealed in the album commentary to be the outputs of sound oscillators used by Rick in the studio. I painstakingly screen-capped the video until I found a couple I liked. The font is the same one used by Simon in the liner notes, and the text formatting and color is inspired by what he did on the disc faces.

Hope you enjoy!
