I have an interview somewhere on my computer (it's an mp3) where it has karl and bono talking about the song -
it did happen, something was recorded, but rick thought it sounded too much like an 'underworld remix of a u2 song' and not a collaboration between the two... but bono said that he heard the 'finished' version, and that it sounded quite good
if i remember correctly - the song "mofo" did indeed stem from these sessions, but to what extent - who knows... but there's definitely no remnants of uw's input in that final album version
