Maybe they're trying to save their own bandwidth. Remember when they posted the Moscow Rez/Cowgirl video, and it brought down the server for days?
It seems like they have carte blanche through their Apple QuickTime arrangement, so streaming it through Akamai gives them unlimited bandwidth.
