Yeah, gone are the days of my yoof when you could go into a
record shop, pick up a
vinyl and ask the bloke behind the counter to let you hear a few tracks from it. Maybe there are still some indie outlets that would humour you, but I doubt very much HMV, Virgin
et al. would let you do this if you asked. I know some stores do have listening booths where they have a kind of juke-box setup, but it is based on what they consider to be the albums of the week, not on a customer-driven basis.
