I think that's because of two things:
1) the Discovery album ...or actually "one more time".
2) Pitchforkmedia doing (basically) a complete 180 on Daft Punk b/c of the popularity of Ed Banger records. They
hated 'Human After All', but now that 'that sound' is popular...
I actually met this chick at a record store who was a couple of years younger than myself at a record store before the Daft show in Seattle. She was super pumped for it, b/c 'it was their last tour ever' (I don't know where that came from) ... and she had "both their albums". I didn't have the heart to tell her that they made more than two (5 if you count Daft Club & Alive...) -> but I got the really strong sense that she was only into DP b/c of #1 & #2
sort of in a cute-sie naive way - know what I mean? Like, she asked me if "Talkie Walkie" was good, b/c she had never heard of Air before... I was like, you
have to get "Moon Safari"
I think that a lot of those "kids" at the Daft Punk shows (in the US) are like that.
...which is funny b/c those "kids" are probably only 4-6 years younger than me! (unless you really mean like underage teens)
thank god I found electronic music at an early age!
