Are you that are bitching and moaning even listening to yourselves - you expected what exactly from the plot - The Piano?/2001: A Space Odyssey?/Dogma?/Transformers by Shakespeare??
FFS - it's a movie about giant talking robots!!!
That's it!
It's got action, it's got a hot babe, it's got holes in the story, it's got cheese, it's got some comedy.
It needed more Barricade and more Starscream - but there's always time for a sequel.
I'm not creaming my pants and saying it's the best movie ever - but I went and saw it on the biggest, loudest screen in my town, precisely because it's a movie about BIG FUCKOFF ROBOTS beating the crap out of each other.
I laughed at bits, I cringed at others, I went "Team America, FUCK YEAH!" a few times, and all in all basically walked out having enjoyed myself the entire time. And the wife did too - and she hates geek culture and pop-hype.
Christ - go back and watch the original Hasbro cartoon and get all anal retentive and invertedly obtuse with your analysis over that "infantile pap" - which coincidentally involved big robots talking and cheesing it up far more than the movie did.
I want to see an Aussie version take place at Bathurst in which 40 foot high Holdens and Fords beat seven shades of holy hell out of each other.
