rog, i would like to add that your dissatisfaction with the "music scene" may be deeper than that. i do go through patches of being bored with music and feel lost and dissatisfied with pretty much everything in my life. it's times like those that i like to wrap myself in the warm cocoon of an old favorite album and reconnect with my musical roots. there is so much good music that each of us has never heard that it's a matter of time before you hit a rich vein of amazing sounds. revisit some of your favorites, take a weekend day and grab a stack of cd's you've never heard of at the local shop and listen to them, put yourself in a new place or favorite environment and put on one of your favorite lps.
