Following last week's successful A-Z show and for ease of playlisting, i've been running several themes for my 80's & 90's Megamix shows over the past couple of months, and this year
(2007) will be no different.
The format stays the same, with the usual
quality mix of 7" & 12" classics from the 80's & 90's, except the remit each week will fall within one of the following categories:
this week,
Tuesday 16th January - Matt's Personal Dance Music Collection Classics
My own favourite dance tunes from the 80's & 90's (you won't be disappointed with the selection). All My personal favourites. Induldge me.
Tuesday 23rd January - Chilled Show
A collection of chilled tracks from the 80's & 90's (not all ambience but just mellow chilled out stuff - this will be a a really nice show).
Tuesday 30th January - Rainbow Show
All tracks & artists featured in this weeks show will feature colours, for example, Purple Rain, Blue Monday & Yello
Tuesday 6th February - Hip Hop & Rap Show
This won't be your Harcore Westwood type hip hop & rap, my show will feature all the well know classics from the beginings of the hip hop movement to the tracks laid down at the end of the 90's - you might need your Adidas on for this show, other wise i'll send round Run DMC.
Tuesday 13th February - The Love Special
Don't worry this show won't be for smoochers - its gonna feature the classics from bands like New Order, The Smiths and everyone else, but with a kinda theme of love, for Valentines day. (think Bizarre Love Triangle and Girlfriend in a Coma)
Tuesday 20th February - Epic & Progressive - Trainspotters Show
This show will probably feature two tracks from Sasha, and that will be it! No seriously, this show will showcase the best in progressive house and epic house anthmes, think Leftfield, Fluke, Spooky, Lemon Interupt, Bedrock, Blue Amazon, Sasha, BT etc. This one is NOT to be missed. Choo Choo.
Tuesday 27th February - Covers & Remixes
I'll be spinning some unheard remixes of 80's bands and covers of 80's classics by unlikely candidates in this show. If you have any suggestions for rare remixes or covers of 80's tracks let me know for this one.
Tuesday 6th March - Rave Anthems
Get your white gloves and glow sticks at the ready - the decade that imnvented rave sprung some classics and this show will feature them all. Vicks Rub not obligatory.
Tuesday 13th March - Numbers
There's a simple premise for this show is, each track will have a numeretic theme, think: 808 State, 3 AM Eternal, 2 Bad Mice, Five Star (kidding).
You can
count on this show being
number one. Tune in for more puns.
more shows will follow, with various themes, including a special UW show later in the year... keep your eyes on this thread...
Thanks to all who tuned in at any point during last year and i hope you will do so again at some point during this year - i'll try and post shows if i get them recorded or grab them off anyone who does, so you can listen at a later date if you miss any.
Finally, if you have any comments or requests for any of these shows let me know via this thread - i'm open to suggestions - after all
you are the listener
