nah, this can be the token dubstep thread for all i care.

i actually have no problem with wobble! everyone's hating on Coki for churning out the wobblers, but i think what he's doing is next-level. the techstep comment, i dunno, a lot of new tunes are sounding mostly rigid, abrasive, cynical, and heartless, thanks to new producers who can hear the half-step spookiness in dubstep but none of the groove, vibe, space, all the elements of jungle and 2step that producers like Loefah and Digital Mystikz and Kode9 are 'ghosting' out.

i heart the first Boxcutter EP on Planet Mu and the 12" on Hot Flush, and parts of the album, but overall the LP sounded kinda overbaked. and he uses so many of the same sounds throughout, like that Boymerang break and the squelch fart, and the whole thing sounds so pointlessly shiny. it's alright though, good in the mix.
