To me the album's existence is kind of proof that they care quite a bit. NOt just because they were just about to throw in the towel and would only produce another ep. But also from their previous efforst. I mean you have to give a damn about your music to get that disappointed and bitter. I think they felt it should have been them to lead the army of assymetrical haircuts and myspace poets of the emo scene, not the candy punk/goth bands that eventually took over. To which I can sympathize.
I'd say their sound is too sincere to be that accessible in today's cultural climate and nothing would make someone more bitter than to fail for your strenghts, not for your weaknesses
(worlds apart is plain underwhelming though, imho)
