Actually, Mr. Smith may be refering to 1,100 Hz. (The frequency range in which these piano notes seem to reside and/or roll off.) The human voice is also somewhere in the ballpark of 1000Hz, and the piano rides in there too. Low bass would be like, 110Hz.
I freaked when I saw the name. "11 Hundred Hz? How cool is that?"
