On Friday I'm heading up to New York for a two month internship and pursuit of a great experience. I'm a small town boy by birth, growing up in rural Scotland, so this is a very exciting oppportunity that I intend to make the most of.

So is anyone here familliar with the music scene up there? They say it's not as good as it used to be, but I figure there's still got to be a lot going on in a city of over 8.1 million people. I'll be living in Crown Heights Brooklyn but the first thing I'm going to get is a metro card, so I'm prepared to travel.

Any other advice or stories would also be welcome. In fact, would any New York dirts out there be interested in meeting up? I like the idea of making new friends while I'm there, and what better place to start than a mutual love of Underworld.
