i'll take readability over design any time, especially with websites, but i guess that's just me.

I go to a website to look for info or content, anything that detracts me from reaching that info or content in the fastest and easiest way possible (ie, unrecognisable/unlabeled buttons) is just sloppy design if you ask me.
but hey, it's your site so you can do whatever you like
anyway, some really nice stuff on the site. Me likes Jal to Tokyo artwork.
