i think we should:

hire a gaggle of well-manicured people who have previously worked in the kind of ad where many happy people dance and jump and smile (Gap ads for instance)
find their house and go to it.
wake them up at early hours.
you show up with a big scroll saying that they have been fantastic citizens of the world and that the mayor of awesome is having a parade in their honor.
enter musical number where he/she is whisked out of bed and made to prepare for this fantastic occasion.
have the actual parade with the subject wearing a ridiculous outfit, sitting atop a ridiculous float, and feeling absolutely ridiculous waving to thousands of cheering people.

and then a bucket the size of an ice rink comes in and dumps ice-cold water on him.
while soaked and freezing, one of the penguins (we have mascots as well) walks up to him, offers to drink a couple beers with him, and while at the bar proceeds to tell him what a travesty his voting choice was.
