well while most euro dirts were watching the 'world in Tilburg, i went to see New Order at Brixton...wish i was at UW but money was tight so, i had to make do with NO...

and well was it any good...???!?!

yes it was fucking great - THE best live performance i've actually seen by them, clear, no fuck ups, and accomplished...and i've seen them a few times (about 10) so its not just one show out of two...

anyway they played what Barney proclaimed was an extra long set...bollocks, its was the usual 90 minutes...basically it was singles, not all of them though, plus three JD tracks as the encore...

but starting with Ceremony was tremendous and they rocked and enjoyed it all the way through (so much better than Hyde Park - which was good btw) especially Crystal which sounded really clear and almost studio like!

sadly they did nothing from their best album, tecnique, which is always disappointing, but loads of other favs, your silent face, love vigilanties, temptation, , bizarre love triangle, blue monday ("we didn't play it at glastonbury, but we're playing it for you - those fucking hippies don't appreciate it"), plus the three singles from WFTSC, which to be honest none of which light the crowd up, but were performed really well...

NO used to be shoddy and didn't really look like they were enjoying their gigs, but these days a two day tour, London and Manchester, it seems like they are having fun and have almost been practising to get it perfect for the fans....

so, at missing UW in europe and saving myself £200, i did manage to catch new order at their very best, imo, their best ever performance...anyone who was there saw a great show...
