From what I picked up from the interview:
"We still want to make physical things. I'm a record junkie. I like going out and cruising the stores and buying stuff off the racks. This is just an initial sort of way of working where we can speed up the process. Once the things finished, to be able to make it available. I've done 25 years of waiting to be scheduled."
To me, it sounds like the "150" tracks are going to be more like sound tidbits than complete finished songs. Like Karl said, this is just the INITIAL way of working, and from the sounds of it, a proper record will be released in the future. Maybe he's using this as sort of a sounding board? Throwing it up against the wall to see what sticks? See what the fans like more, and then assemble a record out of that?
I dunno. I love Underworld, but 150 tracks just sounds a bit much. I can't imagine that all 150 are going to be of "Pearls Girl" or "Dirty Epic" greatness. I would rather see them trim the fat and get something really solid out.
