Might be just me, but I'm hearing multi layered vocal tracks (3-4). There's Karl with no effect, in sync with a high pitched vocoder, then a low pitched vocoder, and maybe even a third at some points when the beat gets thrown off course(LOVE IT!) here and there.

I think that's a correct assessment of it. Only one of the three really bugs me. If the higher pitched one came down a bit in the mix, I think it would work a little better.
