A slight necropost, but this track never leaves my head and I can't believe there aren't most postings about the lyrics and the song. I so wish they'd release it as a single (or within a single release). Not on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon - almost doesn't exist. But those who've heard it clearly love it.
Here are the lyrics gleaned from Karl's diary entries 4th-11th December 2014
Code:
Twenty Three Blue

Little imitation plastic wood girl
The wind is coming, wait
Time moves slowly on the island
Bell the dagger, Bell the digger, horn puller
Up the white line... home
Nothing is a problem
The sound of you, like geese
The sound of you, ringing
Crystal dirt in the flat bed
Shapes I never seen like these before
Cover the city tonight
Sleek, pale
Gold-head
Blue come & wrap around us
Who will take me home?
Walking slow
Breathing, upstairs & laughter
Rippling....
Footsteps in grey, for listening
Dipped in black.
Smiling
Descends the stairs
Winter walks in,
The phone rings, I hesitate
The name, then answer
"Carry cup to see you ‘Late-a’ "
Do you feel the cold of winter?
Clutching steaming paper
It's up to you
Before the world wakes up
Do u feel the cold of winter x3
Do u feel the cold of winter x2
Red & black
Between the trees
Billy Billy Billy
Left-foot, drag the stone
Walking for the wind
Cold knuckles
Slow browns and greys
Laugh poster-face man
Selling Monday in the market
Winter streets - dries bones
Do u feel the cold...?
No idea about that carry cup line, but it's as it was written in the diary!
