Well, if you just look at the underside of the disc, you can usually tell the difference between CD and CD-R media. CD-R uses a dye-based phase shift medium which looks different from a pressed, replicated CD. The data area is usually much more defined (to the naked eye) on a CD-R.
The other major way to distinguish is the matrix area. Pressed CD's have a lot of information in the Matrix, including SID codes. CD-R's usually have no matrix information, and a dot-matrix-like batch code. You can see more information on Discogs:

As for the catalog numbers, I think that was a copy-paste mistake. I think If Rah should have had a different catalog number. BTW, did you mean 2-track promo for I Exhale? I'm not aware of a 4-track promo.
