Not to mention the ancient equipment he composed most of that stuff on giving it a unique sound. If its the bit I think you are talking of, sure I could see that sounding Carpenteresque (and lets be frank, he used a lot of the same sounds for different soundtracks), but pretty coincidental im guessing.
