CD quality is limited to 16bit 44.1khz which is substantially inferior to high definition audio (e.g. 24bit 96khz or above). It's all in the detail - 24bit allows much more information to reach your ear that your brain can process and enjoy.
Compare music with video and car analogies:
Music:
Low: mp3
Medium: 16bit 44.1khz (CD)
High: wav or flac 24bit 96khz or above / SACD / Pure Audio Blu-Ray / etc
Video:
Low: VHS
Medium: DVD
High: Blu Ray
Cars:
Low: Hyundai/Kia/Daewoo
Medium: Audi/BMW/Mercedes
High: Bugatti/Ferrari/Rolls Royce
There are actually many HD formats. Check out the following site that shows a list including formats available in 5.1ch:

How good would this track be in 5.1?
Maybe Underworld should also update the Everything Everything DVD to Blu-Ray and offer this track as a bonus programmed in 5.1... might have to start a poll on this too!
