Re: [underworld_remixes] -> _retrospective_commentary_
Underworld: Spikee / Dogman Go Woof
[1993] single
CD5: 1993 UK (Junior Boy's Own; JBO 17 CD)
1 12:34 Spikee
2 12:13 Dogman Go Woof
we move onto 2 more non album tracks.
were these experiments?
anyways, they came with the generic JBO logo
of a guy eating a record for the cover.
and it was also a cd-single.
some of these tracks appeared on various JBO compilations,
and also on various other compilations.
spikee was played live a few times...and possibly
dogman go woof.
-----
spikee is interesting in its uses of repeated vocals,
whereas dogman go woof is another epic instrumental
track that takes a lot of time to build up, and work
into a interesting pace and beat.
i prefer spikee, but both tracks are good, and also
very long and epic.
back when most of their tracks where like this.
you can see with lemon interupt that they had no
problem with the longer format, that was more freeform
and allowed the tracks to build.
----------
overall:
============
effort : A
execution : B+
i wish they had done more with tomato artwork
for a lot of these early tracks, but that's about
the only issue with it.
the music is stellar.
recommended.
