First of all, sorry to hear about the hard time you've been having. I remember we used to chat quite regularly before, but it seems you've been just swamped with work and other duties. It's hard when you don't have any time for yourself and I hope you can find a way to make your life more balanced again!!
I haven't really bought or sought out much new music the past year or so, but here are some things I though were good anyway:
Jungle By Night
Quite young band playing sort of Fela-Kuti style Afrobeat. You'd never guess they were dutch
Egbert
Dutch techno producer making a name for himself lately. Been enjoying his productions a lot. He did the
guestmix on John Digweed's Transitions show a while back with all his own productions and remixes which is worth checking out.
I've also quite enjoyed the last Elbow album,
Build A Rocket Boys. Their music seems to always have an element of joy and hope without getting too obvious or corny about it.
