Re: 2010-07-17 iTunes Festival, Roundhouse - London, UK
Just got back from Underworld at the Roundhouse - what an excellent gig! Lineup: Darren Price, Rick Smith, Karl Hyde (from left to right)

I was at the front, but stuck between two disturbingly stoic people (who only expressed a flicker of emotion when the cameras were on them) for half the night, until a girl tapped me on the shoulder and commented that I was the only person in our section who looked like they were enjoying themselves so things took a turn for the better when she found her way to the front during King of Snake Unfortunately this meant that I ended up looking far more enthusiastic than the people beside me and have already been informed that I ended up on the live feed (argh), but will hopefully not make it onto the iTunes coverage on ITV2... *shame*

Surprises: a new synth-rock(?!) track featuring both Rick and Karl singing (or perhaps I'm just not l33t enough to know it) and the new doof-doof version of Strumpet which sounds much more produced. Opening track was Downpipe, and there was sadly no Moaner (or encore), but they managed to squeeze in Rez/Cowgirl, King of Snake, Two Months Off and of course, Scribble and Born Slippy. Was a bit too blissed out to remember the full set list, I'm afraid.

Other points of possible note: Karl's glittery jacket has disappeared, and new merchandise includes a '; cty luvs a boyfrnd' t-shirt and '; y'r a btifl thng' tote bag (they're the items I purchased anyway) as well as a few other designs (the only ones I can remember were based on Winjer and Dogboy, both with less vowels and more semicolons than you might expect).

Looking forward to the album launch gig in September!
