Re: Underworld Live Webcast - 2009-08-07 Fox Theatre, Oakland
Here's my recording (audio + video) from the "watch again" stream that was posted this morning:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5QD9W48I

Normally you can just use the VLC UI to do this:

- Right-click on the QuickTime movie and choose "Save as QuickTime Movie…"
- Open the resulting .mov file in a text editor and find the rtsp:// URL for the stream
- Launch VLC
- File -> Open Network…
- Paste in the rtsp:// URL
- Select the "Streaming/Saving" checkbox and click Settings…
- Drop down the ""Encapsulation Method" menu and select "MPEG 4"
- Specify a location to save the stream
- Click OK to dismiss the dialog, then click Open to start the stream
- Click the Stop button in the VLC UI when the stream is finished

VLC got confused by this morning's replay stream, though, and thought there were two audio streams — an empty one and the "real" one. You can use the command-line to make sure you record the right one:

Code:
./VLC rtsp://a2047.v1415b.c1415.g.vq.akamaistream.net/5/2047/1415/2_h264_350/1a1a1ae858c834990469e250bf3398c62a99107eea59ba1e4cad1879e647b0de41b01d4c7db1e217/underworld_post.mov --no-video-title-show --sout=file/mp4:/users/swannman/desktop/vlc-output.mp4 --audio-track=1
Hope that helps!
