But even with dropbox I think it'd be a massive undertaking, everyone would have to break down their songs in some way to where the individual parts could be manipulated. Basically we're talking about lots of prep on the original artists' part, 500+ mb of audio to transfer and then the actual remixing. It's definitely an interesting idea. My biggest hesitation is that I have kind of a lot on my musical plate (self-imposed) right now since I'm kind of immersed in working on an album. But sometimes remixes come very quickly, so who knows? As for breaking down the track into it's individual elements, it would be easy for me to do in Reason with the way I work. And transfering files isn't so bad these days with sites like mediafire and the like.
So my vote is that i'm absolutely open to discussing it further as soon as we're done with the initial compilation.
