Seems that if youre in the top half of the prem youre ok. If youre not, then theres always the danger youre gonna get relegated. One bad manager / owner/ chairman later and youre in the Championship (or League One if youre really unlucky.
I worked out that there are 14 teams that have been in the premier league and then got relegated twice. Only Man City have made it all the way back up.
At least Newcastle have got a large support and high media profile. Someone will want to come in and "save" them. I hope that somebody comes in right after Boxing Day though (after they've been thrashed by The Wednesday at Hillsborough!)
