My lad was messing about playing slap bass the other night, and I conjured this up out of the ether to show him what real funk sounded like. I hadn't listened to this for years and years and it is full of memories for me. I first left home for the Big City in 79 (jesus, nearly 30 years ago!
). I was sharing a flat with 3 other girls, and this was the part of the soundtrack to those days, usually on the turntable on a Friday night while we got ready to go out dancing.
A timeless, this, imo. Still as fresh and as valid now as it was all those decades ago. Love it!
