For my part, it's not about being for or against capitalism - but
how much fairness and equality we want to cede to it, which I think is what you're saying anyway. I was recently listening to a discussion about the economic crisis in Japan last decade and how they operate a somewhat less dog-eat-dog version of capitalism than the US and UK. Another example would be Islamic banking which complies with Sharia Law - not something I endorse in its entirety (obviously), but there are aspects such as never charging interest (making money from money), and 'ethical' investment that show commerce
can be practised in different and arguably more ethical ways if people want it to.
