Re: UW @ Electric Picnic
As essbee said it was a great gig - similar to the Hyde Park show, although not quite as uptempo all the way through. Crowd was similar also, so it was a great atmosphere although a bit of a bear-pit down at the front! Set list was:
Spoonman
Glam Bucket (great version with lots of guitar!)
Rez
Beautiful Burnout
King Of Snake
Two Months Off
You Do Scribble (pleeeease can we have the studio version on physical release!!!??)
Nuxx
No poem, but I did here the lyrics of Dirty Epic somewhere in there...they came back out at the end to apologize for not being able to play on and Rick came out with a video recorder to get some shots of the crowd.
Oh the guy with the horse head was down at the front going crazy for KoS - I've read about him before on here, but cant remember what that's all about?
Grace Jones was great also before Underworld - very diva like!
I have to say the festival itself was truly excellent - so much to see and do. Its expensive, but by keeping away a the 'massive' headlining acts, and only having 30,000 people, its all very civilized...but crazy and exciting too. If that makes sense...You could party hard all night long to one extreme or chill out drinking herbal teas all night listening to weird and wonderful music in and around 'Body and Soul' or catch some great music in one of the many tents or see some Cabaret or circus or dance or sculpture or....you get the idea!
