Re: Dark Train teaser?

Is that '2' a stylised 'to', as in "Drift to Dark Train", or a signifier that Drift Season 2 is around the corner, I wonder?

Re: Halsey - I am not a woman, I'm a god (Underworld’s Drift Mix)

That must be one of the most high-profile remixes they've ever done. Shame it doesn't get chance to really go much beyond the original track, structure-wise.

Re: collectors' corner

The original was a foldout. Looks like the repress has gone the same way as the Dubno and Second Toughest ones, I remember seeing them as foldouts as a kid and when I finally bought them they just...

Re: Two Months Off (Live at Glastonbury 2016)

The cowbell at the end really wants to go into 'Soul Limbo' by Booker T & the MGs.

Re: Drop #4 - Two Months Off Limited Drop

This really feels like something that could be on an AHDO box. Fingers crossed it's the start of the campaign!

Re: Two Months Off (Live at Glastonbury 2016)

Riverrun was part of the OWB sessions so we won't get it as part of AHDO.

Re: Two Months Off (Live at Glastonbury 2016)

Be nice if it was the start of the AHDO reissue campaign. Even though it's only 19 years old, Karl did mention something about being worried about doing a second Drift at this point interfering with...

Re: Two Months Off (Live at Glastonbury 2016)

It's one of those rare UW songs where I prefer the radio edit to the original. Also true of Ring Road and the Barking Mix of King of Snake, but that's partially because of the bits added to those,...

Re: Single: Underworld - Twist (V2CP-158) Japan only

Yeah, it was definitely discussed at the time as the third single, then just quietly disappeared.

I'm not sure what I would have chosen as third single from AHDO, but it definitely wouldn't have...

Re: Youtube Videos

I know we'll never get it - the box sets would have been the time - but what I'd give for a FSOL-style 'From the Archives' series, or an Aphex-esque Soundcloud dump of old tracks.

Re: collectors' corner

The only obvious link is Peach Tree being a Crocodile b-side, although I think I'm a Big Sister is, tonally, not too far off OwB. The first two are pretty different, though.

Re: collectors' corner

I still think inclusion in the OwB is more likely - especially as they've said they consider the album to be part of the overall Riverrun project - but it does mean that they'd either have to make it...

Re: Vengence of the Universe: New underworld release on Spotify

Coming off the back of the 'what the hell was that?' response Scribble got, anything seemed possible at the time. I'm not sure anyone was expecting it to be David Lynch, though.

Re: collectors' corner

Yeah, it had far more b-sides than Beaucoup Fish.
Karl did mention the fact that a second Drift boxset might get in the way of the AHDO box, so it's definitely still on the radar. Probably be next...

Re: Drop #3 - Cowgirl Limited Drop

Bloody hell, I'd love to have enough money to justify buying music I won't even play!

Re: Drop #3 - Cowgirl Limited Drop

Vinyl prices have rocketed in the past few years. During my brief vinyl-collecting phase, 2013-2015, Burial's two albums were easily available new for a tenner, now they tend to retail closer to £25.

Re: DRIFT Series 2 speculation

Thinking about the current sporadic drops, with an older alternate mix and selling off some old remix 12"s and such, and listening to Drift Series 1 with a few alternate versions on the final album,...

Re: COWGIRL (Remix id2 A1804)

It's certainly rolling out the same way as the previous two. I wonder whether we'll get stock of the Everything Everything version or whether there's some old Dubno era vinyl that's been dug up.

Re: DRIFT Series 2 speculation

Actually, FSOL (again) have the Guinness World Record for first internet release. I think it was free, mind you.

Re: DRIFT Series 2 speculation

Probably not many, although it's worth remembering that FSOL started doing that kind of thing in 1994.

Re: Rez - READING FESTIVAL 1996

Yeah, sorry, I kind of meant that - they've used it for Drift, so they're obviously happy using it. Why have they gone back to the uwlive store for this?

Re: Rez - READING FESTIVAL 1996

Except they used Bandcamp for Drift, so that doesn't quite fit. Especially for a free download.

Re: Rez - READING FESTIVAL 1996

Chalk me up for another amazed that they didn't use Bandcamp for this. They could have popped it up as a £0.00 download allowing people to grab for free, or pay if they wanted. Without all the faff...

Re: 2017 THREAD Orbital are back! Whatever happens will happen again!

Given that it didn't really have any dramatic effect in the UK until spring 2020 (and even then, Orbital played live well past the point most bands started cancelling gigs), I can't see how Covid...

Re: 2017 THREAD Orbital are back! Whatever happens will happen again!

This is a great example of why bands shouldn't announce things until they're confirmed. All we've had since then are a couple of goofy collaborations and some TV soundtrack work.
