I was just going to let that post stand alone and move on, but I've had something of a change of heart. I had my fun and I might as well explain myself.

First of all, I was sober as hell when I...

Re: Party album of the CENTURY

You are overthinking it, you are supposed to feel this music with your ass.

I got my big box of Girl Talk CD's in the mail today and half of them are already gone. This music seems to appeal to...

Re: Party album of the CENTURY

Well-put... two things to add. First, the beauty of this "attention deficit style" is that while the typical mash-up gets old as soon as you figure out what's going on, Girl Talk barely gives you...

Re: Party album of the CENTURY

dubman: As I said before, the sample tracks don't really do it justice. Clipping parts from the middle removes the context, and this album is pure context.

My brother interviewed this guy once...

Re: Party album of the CENTURY

What on earth are you talking about? Did you click any of those links? Because it really sounds like you did not.

Also, I hate all of you, so far. I really do.

Re: clerks 2

The real genius of Clerks was its satirical message about all the unsung customer service workers that are taken for granted every day. Everybody I know who's actually worked as a clerk loves that...

Re: Silent Hill

I thought the entire subplot with Sean Bean could have been removed and it would have been a significant improvement. Indeed, it has been reported that this subplot was added at the insistence of...

Re: Urban Hymns - The Verve

I'm a huge Verve fan. They're one of my favorite bands. I'm also of the fairly rare opinion that A Northern Soul is their best album, but the early singles were pretty amazing. Richard Ashcroft came...

Re: Flaming Lips - At War With the Mystics

I heard this album the other day and I really dug it. Well, I thought it started weak but everything after the first two tracks was really solid. I loved The Soft Bulletin but Yoshimi totally didn't...

Re: Crash

I talked about Syriana in its own thread... I'm not upset that people liked it, it didn't suck, but I'm upset that people who liked it are trashing a better movie.

To elaborate, the characters in...

Re: King Kong

Agreed, not only was it beautiful but it added meaning to the whole NY section of the story... It was Kong's one peaceful moment in her world. The whole beginning was solid too... If any scene was...

I liked it too. It was in all ways a great movie. The special effects were ridiculously good. The battle at the top of the Empire State Building was better than I possibly could have imagined. I...

Re: Capote

A couple of great points there, b.miller... First of all, it's not really a biopic at all. The real focus is on his creative process over the course of just a couple of years writing one book, the...

Capote

If you want to see a fucking brilliant film right now go and see this. Out of all the year-end Oscar-bait dramas I've seen so far, Capote is by far the best. It has a totally un-hollywood feel to it,...

Re: Syriana

I thought this movie was decent but certainly not great. If Soderbergh had actually directed it, it might have been great, but it fell really short due to poor pacing and a general lack of relatable...

I finally got a chance to see this, and it is a wonderful and truly unique film.

As a Gaiman fan, though, I'm starting to notice patterns in his writing that stick out more than they should. His...
