Re: It's not war, just the end of Underworld
I'm not quite sure how Barking qualifies as "super pop."
Everyone they're collaborating with might be well-known, but mostly within their own fields. I wouldn't call High Contrast pop anymore...

Re: Always Loved A Film
That's how you know it's a good track. It won't necessarily hit everyone the same way, but in the right (or some might say wrong) setting and mood, it cuts into you like nothing else. And from that...

Re: Thoughts on Barking (Track by Track)
A lot of what I would have said has already been covered, so I won't rehash a lot of key points.
Bird 1 is a good opener and sounds just enough like Underworld without being a slave to traditional...

Re: 12-Aug-09 The Metropolis, Montreal, Canada
You're right on Spikee.
Also, Glam Bucket wasn't a one-for-one take; it had a much fiercer beat and Karl's guitar.
That "vision, c'mon" track isn't from AHDO, or at least not any of the singles...

Re: Montreal 8/12/2009 thread
Wow, what a concert. More fresh stuff than the Oakland gig. Is that mix of Glam Bucket with a live guitar new?
Also, Beautiful Burnout makes for a great opener.

Re: Montreal 8/12/2009 thread
In Oakland they started with Dark Train, didn't they? Would be a heckuva start to use Dirty Epic, though. I hope it has some newer non-album material; it probably will, but whether it'll have been...

Montreal 8/12/2009 thread
Curious as to whether anyone here is going to the Montreal gig. I'm actually at the Metropolis now. Surprisingly quiet outside.
I'll be easy to recognize... the guy with the old white...

Top Gear drops in some OWB
Didn't find any mention in a search, so I just thought I'd mention:
The Dec. 2 episode of Top Gear is the first instance I've seen on TV which used the new Underworld album for a backing piece. ...

Re: The Official OWB Thread
Chiming in a bit late here, but I definitely like the album. To me, the "Crocodile" / "Beautiful Burnout" segment is one of the best Underworld has ever done because it flows so effortlessly and...

Underworld finally on iTunes Canada
Aside from the usual remixes that are on others' albums (see: "Barrel of a Gun" remixes), you can now get some genuine Underworld albums on iTunes Music Store Canada. It's probably been a year or...
