Joy Division had more intensity than any other band from the last 30 years, I'd say. Except maybe later period Talk Talk. You might want to check out the whole early eighties Factory Records...

Man, I loved that guy's basslines, especially in the work he did with Killing Joke. Saw him twice with Ministry and fuck, what intense and menacing stage presence he had.
