Re: popped in everything, everything dvd
Yeah, I know what you're saying. It kind of goes in waves for me. I really don't listen to a lot of electronic music like I used too, in general. I don't like to overdo something I really like and...

Re: Doom
I saw this movie, and it was exactly what I expected. Low expectations, and you will not be disappointed. To be fair, I can't say that I'd recommend this movie.
I don't know much about Doom3, but...

Out Hud - "It's For You" video
http://www.brainwashed.com/common/video/mov/out_hud-its_for_you.mov
Found it on www.kranky.net
Pretty cool. It reminds me of the video for the new Ladytron's "Destroy Everything You Touch"...

Re: 'Z' - My Morning Jacket
I'm still liking this, and picked up a real copy the other day. Has anyone seen them live? I heard they put on a good show, and I'd like to hear the new stuff. I found out just today they're playing...

Re: is this worth it?
I guess I'll never know if it was worth it since I didn't go. I know it would have been a great show, especially reading everyone's recommendations, but I haven't been holding my breath for months in...

Re: Doom
Yeah, the plot change is disappointing. Opening portals to hell is far better than science projects gone awry. Event Horizon had it right with the "spaceship traveling to a dimension of pure evil"...

Re: Doom
Oh of course.
This reminds me of when Starship Troopers came out. I had read the book and was so excited for the movie, and was so horribly disappointed. In the book (besides the socio-military...

Re: The Fearless Freaks
I agree. I saw this at a screening over the summer. It's less of a "Behind the Music: The Flaming Lips" sort of story and more of a chronicle of what shaped the band and people around it, which I...

Let's start a list of reasons why the original movie was awesome:

Re: Favourite Soundtracks
Trainspotting is easily my favorite. The whole thing is great. First cd I ever purchased.
The Crow is pretty good too. I remember asking my brother to make a casette copy for me. Ahh, 1994. If...

Re: Jamiroquai
Hey, Jamiroquai used to be my favorite band, before UW. Keep in mind, this was when I was barely a freshman in highschool, nearly 9 years ago. But c'mon, the video for Virtual Insanity was pretty...

Everyone should "defo" catch them live.
I saw them earlier this year and they put on a great show. Seven people crammed onto on small stage jamming on their instruments and singing thier hearts...

Re: 'Z' - My Morning Jacket
After a few listens, I agree, it's quite good. Albums like 'Yankee Hotel Foxtrot' and 'Soft Bulletin' are the type that grow on you anyways.
Scott, did you mean that 'Z' is the album-of-the-year...

Re: Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
Fair enough! Pitchfork is what it is, but I feel they are still pretty predictable and a bit full of themselves, but not as much as before. They are also based in Chicago. Hmmm...

After one listen, I agree, it's quite good. Maybe I'm a little attached being from Illinois. It's nice to hear something that reminds you of home. Immediate stuck-in-your-head favorites: Chicago,...

Re: The good albums of 2005
The Mountain Goats - The Sunset Tree - A bit more than their usual lo-fi acoustic guitar, but still simple, catchy, and wonderful. John Darnielle really knows how to write a song and tell a story. He...

All regulars, I suppose.

Re: Prague 13.7.
No, but here's a blurry photo I took this weekend of a poster by the escalator in the Prague Metro. The one's above ground got ruined by the rain, otherwise I might have one on my wall.
Full-sized...
