Re: abortion: reducing abortions and retaining women's rights.

2nd trimester seems good to me. obviously I'm no expert. the whole thing is a debate on where "life begins" and whether or not you'll count a fetus as a human being while it's still undeveloped. ...

Re: abortion: reducing abortions and retaining women's rights.

"You're not a human being until you're in my phonebook" - Bill Hicks

I personally find abortion disgusting and morally reprehensible, but our current laws allow for plenty of things that fit that...

Re: going lossless

Exactly! I don't think MP3 is a "shitty" format at all. 128 kbps (as the Duran Duran one you mentioned above must have been, if it's less than 5 MB for a 5 minute song) obviously sounds like crap,...

Well it's definitely better than the last one but Last Exit is still king

Re: Diamond Jigsaw Single Information and Ordering Links

Moon in Water also springs to mind. The original radio broadcast of that was amazing, really thought they'd expand that into some 10-minute epic closer instead of a pop song.

Re: bryantm3 does scribble

The studio version doesn't have the vocal part though, which IMO really sucks. The vocals were the best part (though I'm guessing a lot of you would disagree)

Re: Diamond Jigsaw Single Information and Ordering Links

Me too!! Listening to both versions, they really kind of changed the focus - the live version has these big chord changes in the chorus, but the Barking version really neuters it. I dig the album...

Re: Junior Boys

I'm looking forward to it too though I'm not very optimistic for it. Their first album, Last Exit, was amazing. The second one was not quite as good in my eyes but had some really killer tracks,...

Re: Frankenstein - The Album, March 17

yeah I'm not really a fan either but I wasn't expecting to like it too much. I really get the impression of "you have to see the play", and IMO there aren't really any good single tracks from it. ...

Re: Stone Roses reform!

I wonder why this subject seems to come across every year or so.
I agree that the first Roses album is a total classic, as are some of the singles they did around that period, but they burned out so...

Re: lcd soundsystem - stream last concert ever

yeah, Murphy is LCD, LCD is Murphy, he's not retiring from the music biz, so I don't really think the band can "break up"...i'm sure he'll be releasing new stuff in a couple years

Re: Interview with Karl by SW4 festival organisers

what I mean is, a lot of times during the webstreams, he'd say a lot of totally bizarre and wacky things in jest, so who knows what he means by anything

Re: Interview with Karl by SW4 festival organisers

that's worrisome..still never got a chance to see them in the USA

then again, Karl is kind of a talker, they generally don't reveal their plans publically too often do they?

Re: lcd soundsystem - stream last concert ever

obviously it depends on what Murphy does afterwards but yeah I think there's a good chance they'll be back

most people who decide to just quit on that level of success and integrity eventually...

Re: The Chemical Brothers - 'Hanna' Soundtrack

That could be...also WATN didn't really have a big single, so maybe they wanted to quit while they were ahead (in a manner of speaking)

Re: Radiohead - The King Of Limbs

I really dug "Seperator" but I'm kind of divided on the rest. I do miss the more rock n' roll Radiohead; this album is fine but it doesn't have any energy, it's just kind of dreary and whiny. Drums...

Re: European Club Gig tracklisting order? serious help

Just popped in to say the version of Born Slippy (not NUXX, the instrumental one) is one of my favorite UW performances ever. Sooo incredibly epic; it just builds and builds forever. Wish they had...

Re: Where are the epic tracks?

Hey Strawman; make sure you check out "Thing in a Book" if you don't have it yet. It's kind of an obscurity as it wasn't a single and wasn't on an album but it's grade-A UW material that I think...

Re: Freur - Alabaster White Thing

Ha, I just heard on the demo tape their old single "I Just Can't Stand Cars". It's such a stupid song and I'm really starting to love it.
