It's definitely better on headphones than on phone or laptop speakers, but still, there's just not much there apart from the kick and the bass. It's a nice beat but the rest of the sounds just aren't...

Well, they already turned to a lot more heavy-ish, stripped down techno sound on several Drift tracks so it feels like a natural continuation from that.

Yeah Holding the Moth was what I thought of immediately too. An at first (before the album came out) pretty cool minimalist techno track they played live that they mutated into horribly noodly jazz...
