Music Componants - Rebotini

Ok this album isn't exactly brand new, but it's fairly recent and have been listening to it since it first came out and was pushed (beyond belief) by Fnac in Paris.

I did a quick search on headset and found nothing relating to Rebotini so i guess i'd like to see what people think of it, or if they have heard it listened to it?

I find myself skimming through the new Electronic releases with the same dissatisfaction...related mainly to thinking it all sounds the same, or seems to have been done before, or (because im a little wiser to what goes making electronic music these days) it just sounds like somebody banged out a tune in an hour on Reason because their record company was asking for a new release and the artist had forgot to do their homework....

..but when i listened to this album i was instantly appealed to its honesty... ok the album art is nearly rubbing your face in the fact that he has delved back into the realm of analogue production... but the songs have a real refreshing mix of early techno with a modern slant...

Compositions are simple and while synths at times dominate the drums are exposed and always in your face , something that i feel new electronic artists have been afraid to do. To often new material is heavy on the distorted synth, and reliant on a subdued drum line deep within the sound... but here the basics of dance music have been given prominence again i feel with the artist not afraid to develop the song gradually and build on arpeggiated synth lines without the worry that the audience need a "hook" or tag line to make them remember to buy the cd next time their shopping.

I think this album is honest and one of my favourite electronic releases of 2008....

anyone hate it? love it? interested in it?

also anyone know if he has any other material like this....i checked his other musical project under another name but it seems a little more guitar heavy metal dance based....any ideas?
Thanks!:)

Still have not listened to it yet, but Arnaud Rebotini is part of Blackstrobe, which released serious electo stuff too ("Me & Madonna", "Italian Fireflies",...)
