darktrain.jp New News Page + New News!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know about a couple of new things at darktrain.jp!

First, I`ve just rebuilt the news page with php. Users can now leave comments about news articles, there will be an archive section, etc...

Second, I know you all are well aware what a lousy news poster I am. I apologize for my apparent lack of "keeping up", but hard as I try, there just isn`t enough hours in a day for work, taking care of family, designing new things for the web site, and spending time on the Internet seeking out "Japan/Japanese" related Underworld news. I`ve also had to rely on my wife or friends for proper translation when posting western news in Japanese, as I`m no where near where I should be to even call myself a semi-fluent writer. That being said, I`m proud to announce that one of my fellow darktrain.jp team members will be taking over the news of the site! He has already put up two news articles:

The first (top) one is a short interview "Perth now" did with Karl Hyde on December 27th:
http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/stor...005364,00.html

The second one is about a photo gallery by Ryota Mori that will be held in Ebisu, Tokyo from January 7th to the 12th. Mori is famous for his live concert photos, and apparently shots from recent Underworld shows will make a strong appearance in the gallery.

One of my original objectives with darktrain.jp was to keep everyone in this forum informed about important Underworld/Tomato matters as they related to Japan. With Shingo`s help, we`ll hopefully be able to do just that! Whenever something substantial/interesting comes up in the darktrain.jp news, I will resurrect this thread and post it here!

Hope you all had a great New Year!!!

Matt

thanks phaseblue.

"Hyde himself is a recovered alcoholic, and although he never took drugs himself, chooses not to judge the choices of fans" (from perth now).

that's really interesting, if you ask me. we don't hear that often that musician NEVER took drugs (after 30 years of being in the buisness). but that's good, i guess. i mean, karl's music is the best, so drugs really don't make you write better music. nor does alcohol.

cheers though.

That's awesome, I don't have a DS but that program is way more powerful than I would have guessed for such a unit.

edit: That mixer on the top of your page is pretty cool too, any more songs to play with?

More to come soon - ok, probably later rather than sooner! I changed hats recently to try and focus more on site content, but I do have plans to greatly expand it`s functionality in the near future!

I just put up a little gem I got courtesy of one of the darktrain.jp members!:)

It`s an interview Karl Hyde did at the Apple Store in Shibuya, Tokyo when he was here back in September, 2007!

He spends the bulk of it commenting on other artists/music and how they have influenced him/Underworld, but also talks about their upcoming (OWB) tour in Japan.

Karl is quite funny in some parts!
