that is truly sad. And it must be hard for R&K to know they have worked on his last movie.

RIP mr Minghella.

Fuck!

Unbelievable & so sad. Cinema's losing one of his best directors. And sure R&K must be very sad, amongst many others... worst new of the day. :(

So sudden, and such a loss for British cinema. I heard an extract on the radio today of a speech he gave to BAFTA just last week, where he was basically saying he found it hard to think of himself as a director, and was only really a writer who knew how to direct. What a truly humble man - you don't get Oscars with cornflakes packet tops.

RIP :(

Very much a sad loss for cinema in general and very sad for the fact that he was still relatively young. Much sympathy obviously for his family and also to R and K and all his friends.

i remember watching "ripley" for the first time, his dialogues were breathtaking. best patricia highsmith adapt. ever! great loss of british cinema, i'm telling you, there are very few directors on that scale.

RIP
