Can anyone recommend a good FLAC player for macs?

I would recommend transcoding to Apple Lossless and using iTunes. AFAIK, the compression ratio is similar

Of course, that completely doesn't answer your question, especially if you don't like iTunes. Unfortunately, it looks like qtcomponents development has stopped, and that was all that supported Ogg Vorbis. It had hope for flac as well.

i'm at work so i don't quite remember what i have at home.

i think it's Macamp lite/Malt X (that's without converting anything), and then i have a separate program for converting flac/ogg files (for use with itunes).

i'll have exact details when i get home :)
