In my little memory banks i remember some dirty people who would upload their new sound links to this site. Are we to do this once more.

I did quite enjoy playing the NME critic with my swallowed dictionary for breakfast......

I think that everyone just posted links to their sounds (new and old) on the one thread and anyone who wanted to could download / rate / colaborate on the songs.

Sounds good to me....


I also remember a dirty page which had tracks posted to it.

Yeah, there were a number of dirty outlets for new music. For individual creations, threading the track worked fine...expect honest feedback! As for collaborations, my experience with this was to PM the individual and take it from there.
Dirty Musicians was a compilation project that Gambit organized (Gambit, you here? Back yet? :) ) featuring producers and performers from the boards. It used to be at http://www.dirty.org/~musicians/ but looks like that's down.
Remixes of Underworld were also popular faves...Yannick used to screen them and post them on a fan page of Dirty.org. No idea if the old one still exists or what will take its place in the new page.

Yeah, I organized the most recent Dirty Musicians showcasing, but I don't think I'll organize another one. It's rather time-consuming trying to get everybody on the same page around here, and I've quit producing music (at least for now) to concentrate on writing. From what I understand, the last Underworld remix contest happened near the end of the year 2003, early 2004, and this last showcase eventually popped up last January, so if we do anymore, we should make it have it ready by that time this year. A kind of New Year's thing, I guess, although I doubt it was intended to be that.

personally, i hope a compilation happens again, especially with these fresh forums attracting fresh faces! Many thanks, Gambit, for all your work organizing the last one....i realize it's a bit of a headache to orchestrate!
