Scariest film moment?

I just re-watched the 1978 Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Three words: "Donald Sutherland screaming".

What's your scariest movie moment?

Strange Days.

That snuff film scene. I had to turn it off. The movie became really goofy from there on which I finished the following day. Made me feel pretty wussy after telling everyone at work it was a terrifying film.

Well the first thing that pops to mind is in Signs by M. Night Shyamalan. It's that scene where they're showing footage on the news from that kid's birthday party in Brazil or somewhere. It's all hand-held video camera footage and they're running from one window to another trying to see, and then that alien walks past the end of the alley. I was with my wife and a couple of her girlfriends when I saw it in the theater, and one of them was really terrified which made me feel more tense at the time, too. And afterwards, that scene was just kind of burned into my head. Whenever Signs comes up, that's the image that pops into my head.

So either that, or all of Jaws because sharks scare the ever-lovin' crap out of me.

The beginning of American Werewolf in London is straight scary as all shit! As a kid I also had nightmares for a month after he transformed fully and ate those ladies on the street. Aaah!;)

As for pure BOO! scary moments....Candyman when the dog jumps up in the window *tv must be loud* and 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre when the crazy cop shows up at the car window. *turns pale* guess I'm a sucker for window scares.:D

I recall being scared as a child by "Alien". When that thing blasts out of the chest, it makes an impression on young minds.

Speaking of the "The Fog", have you seen the trailer for "The Mist"?

"I don't know if it's man-made or natural, but I can tell one thing it's not: supernatural."

Looks like fun.

Seeing the alien abduction sequence from "Fire In The Sky" as a little kid. Nuff said. Still freaks me out!

gotta agree with Holden here. The chest-burst sequence in the first Alien movie must have been one of the scariest things I've seen.
