New Track: Bamboo
courtesy of Lloyd's posting the link on his blog:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LO5FBgnSKJk I wonder if it's an album reject, or something they've written after they finished the album. Sounds like a damn cool new tune. Kinda floaty but bouncy :) Me likes. Hope to be hearing more of this in coming shows. |
Re: Bamboo
on second thought, i can't really tell due to the sound quality on that clip. it does sound like it could be a Darren Price cut though. Both Circus Faker and Can You Feel This Bass are better/more developed than Bamboo.
at least UW play works in progress live still. not a lot of electronic bands will work out new stuff live. great synth that comes in after a couple minutes. |
Re: Bamboo
apples and oranges. Do you really think this sounds like a Price track? I don't know man, all the Price tracks they've been playing have been pretty much looped techno affairs, nothing quite so melodic as this. It sounds very much in line with the soundtrack/movie feel of, say, Beautiful Burnout (including the strings) so I think it's actually an uw track.

Re: Bamboo
the lenne penne lyrics throw me off

Re: Bamboo
who got the title of "Bamboo"?

Re: Bamboo
this sounds distinctly like something Rick's been playing around with (and not Pricey) -- I love the synths and the hypnotic beats revealed toward the end of the song before it turns into 5ft5.
it pains me to think of all the little snippets floating around lemonworld that may never see the light of day -- there's a certain charm to Bamboo, even if it doesn't quite feel like a finished track -- I can only hope we get more B-sides with singles and, for the love of God, another glorious EP. oh, and new riverrun compilations would be nice :) |

:) BTW, Bamboo is not one of the titles on that long list of unreleased songs on the Warner Chappell site, so my feeling is that this might be a more recent composition. |
Re: Bamboo
the fact that it was actually written on the setlist points to it being an UW production. i don't believe Can You Feel This Bass was written on either setlist from the nights it was played on the US tour.

Re: Bamboo
yea... I kinda doubt it's from Pricey either
I mean - parts of it sound pretty familiar... like wasn't there an improv around AHDO (like... maybe on one of the Creamfields recordings) that was like that? speaking of "Can You Feel This Bass" - did anyone else catch the sample f/ Rez in it? (and I think there might be a bit from Dark & Long) |
Re: Bamboo
Yeah, I agree it sounds distinctly UW. A bit repititious, yes, but it's a work in progress. I can see it being a fun piece once it's all ironed out. 5 Ft. 5 is a fun one too. After 4 minutes it starts to sound a little like a marching band for a while, rim-knocks and all. I've always thought that done properly a beat like that could be pretty cool. Grear to hear new/unreleased tracks played live back-to-back like that too. :)
