Pig & Dan - Imagine
 

Due for somewhere in the next 2 weeks, this is a new LP on the Cocoon label. The short pieces we can listen on their myspace make the wait grow on me. What about you ? Have you listened to it yet ?

I didn't know they had an album coming out...

I've been trying to get as many of their remixes/singles since I heard a track or two of theirs from that one dirtyradio show

IMO this album is very uninspired and boring in comparison to Oh Yeah / Microkitchen and their Play Pig mixes. I can't say how good it is in relation to their other releases but I'm still disappointed.
There where even a few moments where I thought like "WTF? That melody could have been from a monkey randomly playing a keyboard!"

i see what you're saying but i just listen to this stuff and 'imagine' it in the context of a dj mix. they didn't make an album like the Supermayer album, where each song is unique. the Pig and Dan is just a collection of tracks you can use in a DJ set. some of their earlier stuff was better but as is the case with these Producers of the Moment, they put out tons of stuff too quickly and the spark is lost along the way.

pick out a track or two, turn up the volume and mix it with something similar.
