[COLOR=#000000]([COLOR=#800080]WorldInMotion /Joy Division Central[/COLOR]) Details of the Control OST have now emerged. The album, scheduled for release on 1st October, includes three brand new tracks from New Order, a cover of Transmission by the cast (presume that's the JD actors) and The Killers' cover of Shadowplay.

The New Order tracks are titled, 'Exit', 'Get Out' and 'Hypnosis'. It would be cynical to speculate that Bernard wrote these for Hooky .

The three New Order tracks are the instrumental tracks used in the last third of the film. They consist of Hooky's trademark bass lines, some sparse drumming from Morris, and Sumner playing what sounds like a flute sound on a mellotron - not particularly in the style of Joy Division, as was previously mooted.

not to be a gloomy gus, though really, who am i foolin, i hate everything (right Michiel?), but this soundtrack was initially supposed to feature a complete disc of songs written by the remaining members of Joy Division and released as Joy Division. the word then turned to this soundtrack being bundled with a bonus disc of songs New Order recorded during the WFTSC sessions.

now it seems we're just getting 3 or 4 new songs that are, according to accounts on NOOL, short, instrumental pieces somewhere between Salvation Theme and the Saville soundtrack.

i watched control its not just a good rock n roll movie, its an amazing debut by new filmmaker.

bernard refuse to re-record all the songs as new order - and i'm happy about that. i dont know why.

yea - I also remember how it was supposed to be like... if not a full album of "Joy Division" tracks, it was at least an EP's worth of New-Order-as-Joy-Division tracks...

I didn't know about the WFTSC tracks though...

the WFTSC rumor never really made sense so i'm not surprised that didn't turn out.

good to hear from Kowalski that the movie is worth the hype.
