Harry dies but it;s ok he gets revived

Anyone else seen the new Harry Potter flick? I went and saw it today- it's movie 5- so this was the first one that I didn't know the ending to- I started book 5 and couldn't finish it. It's a very good film. I can't say it's the best yet, because 3 and 4 are pretty hard to beat, but it was very good nonetheless. I can't really make tons of comparisons between the book and the movie cos I only read the first 100 pages or so, but I can say that the beginning goes by a lot faster than I remember.
Anyone else seen it?

Just returned home from the cinema after a double feature of this and Ratatouille(for the second time) to avoid the heat on this hot summer evening in Portland.

I liked that this film, number 5, didn't adhere to the previous film's structures. It was wonderful to see the film focus on the characters interactions more and less on a sporting event that served as a bridging point between plot point C and D. There were still those elements that one can always expect to find in each new film. The new teacher, the deepen abyss of intrigue surrounding you know who and those who doubt Harry's importance to the overall species.

I find that all the films seem to end rather drabbly(sp). Mainly in that it just feels more episodic like a TV show than a film proper.

It was nice to see Scary Gary Oldman feature more prominently in this film that the previous one. More Ralph Finnes would've been nice, but I imagine he'll come up more in the next two installments.

Same with Prof. Snape. I really like that character, but I think it has more to do with Alan Rickman and his snarky attitude as he portrays the character than anything else.

i think this is probably my least favourite besides the first two which were really silly at points. it just seems like a let-down after 3 + 4. it wasn't as funny or something, it was really serious all the way through whereas the others had lots of funny parts in them. it was good, nonetheless. oh yeah, luna lovegood is hot!

Well the stories get darker as the characters get older, I guess. I am looking forward to this on Saturday night.

I liked the general dark feeling, in the movie as well as the book. It makes the story more "adult" and "cooler"... can't really put my finger on it. Although I must admit that, while watching no. 5, I was missing some of the light-heartedness of the previous movies. In any case, movie 5 definitely isn't appropriate for small children (it was rated "12" in Germany).

Do you think there's a chance that Luna and Hermione will make out in book 7 or movie 6 or 7?

Just caught this tonight, very good movie just like they all are. Some amazing effects and design. As always, the attention to detail and the subtlety of the fantasy stuff steals the show.

Yeah, Umbridge was played brilliantly by Imelda Staunton. And those lovely kittens on the wall made me wanna smash the plates they were pictured in.

Can't wait for it. Preparing to blackmail the director into adapting my concepts of some speacial Luna & Hermione "action sequences" (see previous post above)...
