A little googling brought the terms flashcore and neurocore hahaha. One day I'll compile a list of all the core genres. :D

Re: Flashcore

Neurocore is a flashcore artist.

hot Jacqueline mixes here, dl Star mix and The Angel mix. it's like gabba meets techno meets breakcore. nothing revolutionary (yet?), i just love how energetic AND airy it feels, nothing like the smashed-up feeling you often get from similar gabba, techno, and breakcore -_-

it seems like more and more genres pop up these days, but i think it has more to do with instant access to information .. there's a sound called 'skweee' out of Scandinavia that's basically a couple guys making glitchy g-funk..

Re: Flashcore

i just found (what i assume is flashcore) podcast here:

http://podcasts.resonancefm.com/archives/601

and i think it is REALLY REALLY awful... i can't take it, it sounds like a 80's sci fi action flick sped up so the exlosions are a bit more like snares and there are lots of lazors and such... AGGGHGHHHH! my ears!

i thought grindcore was, like, Napalm Death and Godflesh. i mentioned Drumcrops over in the metal thread...

it's like Autechre with balls. by academics.

Re: Flashcore

i realized those mixes are only like 50% flashcore. the pounding technogabba stuff is more like industrial noisespeedcore or whatever the fuck, and it got really boring really fast.

the flashcore is still great tho.

.

while i quite like smashed up, i clicked on the link and found the mp3 and the first thing i hear is depeche mode's 'pimpf.'

haha.

dunno if i really dig this style though. it's like seriously mixing stuff that isnt serious at all, threatening to take half the absurd fun out of it and remaining all pent up for no reason. the energy is there, just let it all come out in a mess instead of measuring it.

Re: Flashcore

the stuff is actually very serious. i wasn't kidding when i said they were academics. anyway, not that that matters. in some highbrow way it's meant to be somatic without being danceable, which i can buy, but the concept seems a bit empty. i just like the way it sounds. it's meant to be performed live on a laptop or two, not mixed on records ... which makes me wonder why they even bother releasing records.

listening to the Sedarka release downloadable here with Satka and Atomhead remixes. shrug.
